Double Take has a different concept this issue. We’re not highlighting one piece of furniture and giving ideas on how to use or display the piece. It’s more about a piece of mind while decorating the home.
Fall was on my mind recently while shopping. I believe I saw an episode of Dr. Phil years ago where he declared “shopping is very therapeutic”. The Fall season is full of activities, festivals and stress. Yes, that dirty six-letter word we all know too well. Personal time comes at a premium, so I vote let’s keep it simple. Putting together a Fall table center piece should be the least of our worries. I was wandering the aisle of a shop when my eyes rested upon a table. It was not screaming Fall but had just enough to whisper all that we love about the Fall season. Thinking quickly, my eyes scan about and I see orange. There’s no other color that depicts Fall better than orange. Fall can be bold. So, whether you whisper in Fall or go bold for Fall, just keep it simple and stress free.
Bold and Colorful
Two oversized flowers fill the modern silver tray accompanied by orbs of various patterns and colors, an orange mosaic glass candle holder and the final round out the table setting. All these items may have been at different parts of the home and now they join forces to be both simple, yet bold for Fall.
The earthy colors and texture of the hand-woven rag table runner is the perfect platform to build upon. The topiaries provide symmetry and height while the rooster and ceramic jar adds to the farmhouse tradition feel, with the final addition of the orange berry sprigs lending to a Fall whisper.
Here’s a shout-out to Davine Henning (booth #62) at the Louisburg Market Street for letting me “play house” in her space. Check out her Facebook page.
